Teen & Tween Beginner Ring Making Classes | Summer 2026

Location: 1313 Chestnut Ave Minneapolis, MN 55403 

Age Requirements: MUST BE BETWEEN 11-16 years old to participate and have a parent-signed waiver. No one over the age of 16 will be permitted to take the class. 

Parents: You are welcome to hang out in our lounge or leave and come back to pick up your teen/tween.

Details: 

Every class is a bit different! & You can sign up for the class that speaks to your teen! We will be offering our stacker ring, statement ring, wax carving ring and birth flower ring making classes. Your teen will learn all the basics of metalsmithing and ring making and they get to leave with heirloom-quality sterling silver jewelry (or bronze jewelry if they choose the wax carving class). They will learn EVERYTHING they need to become jewelers in the making or just try out a new art form. We cover safely handling tools, cutting and forming metal as well as finishing and polishing their jewelry so they leave with something they are truly proud to show off! <3 

The schedule is as follows: 

July 17th 2-4pm: Stacker Ring Making: You’ll make three rings; one flat hammered ring, one twisted textured ring, and one classic stacker ring! Learn the basics of metalsmithing by shaping, soldering and polishing your rings.

July 24th 2-4pm Statement Ring Making: Design and create your very own sterling silver statement ring in this hands-on jewelry making workshop! You will explore the art of metalsmithing as you learn to shape, size, solder, and polish a custom piece of wearable art. With a wide selection of wire styles to choose from, each participant will design a ring that reflects their unique personality, whether bold and chunky, sleek and modern, or textured and organic.

July 31st 2-4pm Birth Flower Class: Create a piece of jewelry in this hands-on metalsmithing experience. In this workshop, you’ll design and craft a custom birth flower ring by hand-stamping your chosen birth flower designs onto metal before learning to shape, solder, and finish your ring from start to finish. 

August 7th 2-4pm Stacker Ring Making: You’ll make three rings; one flat hammered ring, one twisted textured ring, and one classic stacker ring! Learn the basics of metalsmithing by shaping, soldering and polishing your rings

August 14th 2-4pm Wax Carving Class: Starting with a simple block of jeweler’s wax, you’ll carefully carve a ring using professional tools and expert guidance. 

Think of the wax as a model of your future piece of jewelry. Every detail you carve into the wax will eventually become metal through "casting".

Casting is not done during the workshop.

Once your design is complete, you'll leave your wax model with us and we'll send it to our professional casting partners, who will transform your wax creation into metal using the lost wax casting process. Then we will mail your gorgeous bronze ring to your home in a few weeks when it's a complete and finished metal ring! 

Safety: Safety is our #1 priority, and to keep your teen safe will be doing the soldering portion for them, but we will demonstrate it and show them all the steps so they learn a lot along the way. They will do everything else themselves! So they can truly say their jewelry was made by them! 

Pricing: Enjoy a discounted rate for your teen's class; we offer each class at $99/person. 

Please arrive a few minutes early to find your seat as class starts on time. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late we will not be able to have you join the class.

**We do not offer refunds if you choose to cancel your spot in class. We can allow to transfer to another class if you need to cancel but you must contact us about doing so 10 days or more before the class you are scheduled to take. All sales are final.
