Founder and Artist

Hailey Smith

Creative chaos coordinator, community hype girl, new mama and founder of Simply Creative✨

I turn “I’m not very creative” into “wait…I made that?!” on the daily. From metalsmithing and wax-carved rings to crafty printmaking classes, I’m all about making art feel approachable, social, and actually fun (no pressure, just vibes).

Fueled by big ideas, and a love for bringing people together; I’m building more than workshops, I’m building community. Think: girls’ nights, solo dates, and the kind of spaces where everyone feels like they belong.

With my five month old baby on my hip, I opened our newest studio in March 2026!

Simply Creative is my dream come true and I hope you’ll follow us along.

Teaching Artist

Taylor

I’m a data & spreadsheet girl by day and a serial hobbyist by night! You can usually find me snuggled up with my cats, scrolling Pinterest, and daydreaming about filling my tiny Northeast home with dopamine decor.

My classes are a welcoming space where you can count on learning something new and probably leaving with a new friend. There are no strangers at Simply Creative, just friends you haven’t met yet!

I’ll be your reminder that you don’t have to be “artistic” to make something you love. I’m just happy you’re here

Cookie Decorating Instructor

Whitney

I’m the instructor behind our cookie decorating classes, and I absolutely love baking and decorating cookies that are almost too cute to eat (but still way too delicious not to!). There’s something so fun about turning a simple cookie into a tiny edible work of art.

I’ve always been a crafty person and love exploring all kinds of creative outlets. I’m especially excited about developing a lampworking class to bring to Simply Creative this fall, it will be so fun to teach you how to make your own glass beads!

My newest (and sweetest) role is being a grandma. It brings me so much joy, and I love every minute of it. 💛

Metal Jewelry Instructor

Lola

By day, I run my own jewelry business, and outside the studio you’ll usually find me doing Pilates or spending time outside on my paddle board or bike.

I thrive in the art community and feel lucky to be surrounded by so many creative, supportive people and hope you feel that too at Simply Creative!

My classes are all about keeping things relaxed, fun, and a little imperfect. Come hang, make something cool, and maybe surprise yourself with what you can create

Teaching Artist

Brooke

I’m a hands-on, “I can make that” kind of creative who fully believes collecting hobbies is a hobby in itself (Right?). From sewing, knitting, and junk journaling to painting, macramé, Cricut projects and more, I always have a project in progress and a new one waiting in the wings.

Outside of my corporate 9-5, you can find me crafting alongside my toddler (and 5 pets 😳), embracing the beautiful chaos of mom life, and adding little bits of whimsy to my life wherever I can.

In my classes, you can expect guided one-of-kind crafts in a relaxed and supportive environment. Creating a space where people can have fun and explore their creativity in a non-judgmental way is something I truly enjoy and I hope you do too!

Come as you are, bring a friend (or don’t!), and let’s make something fun together. 💓

FAQ

What is your return and class transfer policy?

  • All class bookings are final sale, there are no refunds. We can usually transfer you to a future class with at least 10 days notice, but its best to refer to the specific class for the transfer policy which will be in the description section of that class listing.
  • We are unable to accommodate late transfer requests. If you are no longer able to make it, you are welcome to give your ticket to a friend.
  • Cookie Decorating classes are final sale. Due to the preparation involved, we are unable to transfer tickets for those classes.
  • Due to the step-by-step nature of our classes, if you are more than 10 minutes late to a class we will not be able to have you join the class and you will forfeit your ticket.

Do you host priavte events?

We love hosting private artsy events! To start planning your special gathering, send us an email at hello@SimplyCreativeMN.com. We'd love to chat.

How old must you be to take a class?

Our classes are primarily designed for adults. Most of our metal jewelry classes are 18+, though age requirements can vary. Please check each class description for specific age requirements.

Do people come to classes alone?

YES! Our small group classes make it easy to connect to your own creativity or chat with others. There are no strangers at Simply Creative, only friends you haven't met yet.

What if I am late?

We offer a 10-minute grace period for late arrivals. After that, we’re unable to accommodate entry, as our classes are taught step-by-step and starting late would disrupt the flow for the rest of the group. We appreciate your understanding in helping us keep the experience smooth for everyone. We are also unable to transfer you to a different class or offer a refund if you are late. For those who are more than 10 minutes late, you would have to forfeit your ticket. We recommend arriving around 10 minutes early to avoid traffic issues.

What is parking like?

We have a huge, FREE, parking lot, right outside our door!

Can I bring a guest?

Each person in attendance needs a paid ticket to the class. We do not allow guests to come with who do not hold a ticket.

Can I bring my dog or baby?

As much as we love dogs, we can't have them in our studio unless they are a service animal.

The only classes suitable for young children are our Mama & Baby Classes for children under 1 year old; all other classes are not designed to have infants in attendance.

Is Simply Creative an LGBTQ+ friendly space?

Absolutely. Simply Creative is a welcoming, inclusive space for people of all identities and expressions. We are proud to be an LGBTQ+ affirming studio where everyone is treated with respect, and in our space, our goal is for everyone to feel safe.

Is the studio wheelchair accessible?

Yes, we are ADA-compliant and have easy access from our free parking lot to our studio, as well as wide doorways and ADA-compliant bathrooms.
