What is metal clay? 

Metal clay works and feels like ceramic clay but when you fire it the clay turns into .999 fine silver! Basically, very small fine silver particles are mixed with an organic binding agent and water to create metal clay. Once we torch fire the clay the binder is removed and all that remains is the .999 fine silver! Metal clay is completely non-toxic and safe to work with. 

Details: 

Our instructor, Hailey will teach you techniques & skills to create at least one gorgeous piece of silver jewelry! You can choose to make a necklace or a pair of earrings (we don’t recommend making metal clay rings in this class) we offer a stacker ring making class for those interested in ring making! 
 
No experience necessary! Whether you come alone or with a friend, this welcoming and beginner friendly class is perfect for all skill levels. Our teacher, Hailey will guide you through the entire process making you feel comfortable and confident every step of the way.

Included in Class: 
  • 15g-20g of fine silver metal clay
  • As many pieces you can make with 15g-20g of clay (usually 2 larger to 4 smaller pieces)
  • One sterling silver 20 inch necklace chain OR two sterling silver ear hooks
  • The use of all tools to create including a torch, sculpting tools, molds and rollers
  • We will have water for you but you can also BYOB!
What is .999 fine silver?

Fine silver is the purest silver there is. It’s strong and shiny. It’s also not prone to tarnish unlike sterling silver which does. Fine silver is a gorgeous, high quality metal that is tarnish resistant. 

Safety: 

  • Metal clay is a pretty safe craft, however due to the use of a torch and sharp shaping tools we require participants to be at least 18 years old.

Please arrive a few minutes early to find your seat as class starts on time. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late we will not be able to have you join the class.
