Glass Bead Making Class | Intro to Lampworking

Step into the world of lampworking and discover the magic of transforming molten glass into beautiful, handmade beads! In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of working with soft glass while creating up to 10 one-of-a-kind beads to turn into a matching necklace and bracelet set.

With a maximum of just four students per class, you'll receive plenty of individualized instruction and hands-on guidance, making this the perfect introduction for anyone who's ever been curious about glass bead making. No prior experience is necessary; we'll walk you through every step, from safely operating the torch to shaping, decorating, and finishing your beads.

Throughout class, you'll learn:

• Safe lampworking practices
• How to melt and shape soft glass using a torch
• Techniques for creating consistent beads
• How to add color and simple decorative details
• The basics of properly cooling and finishing your glass beads
• How to assemble your handmade beads into a wearable necklace or bracelet

Our lampworking stations feature professional-quality equipment, but the setup is intentionally approachable and realistic for hobbyists. If you fall in love with this incredible medium, you'll leave with a clear understanding of the tools and workspace needed to begin lampworking at home.

No experience required. All materials and safety equipment are included.

Required Clothing and Footwear 

Please wear long pants (or bring some with you) and wear closed-toed shoes for safety. We provide glasses and hair ties for those with long hair. 

Please arrive a few minutes early to find your seat as class starts on time. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late we will not be able to have you join the class.
